Anchor Shuffle in The Valley of the Sun

Meredith’s KPHO/KTVK has moved morning Anchor Yetta Gibson off the morning newscast and stating today, she will be working nightside alongside Brandon Lee.

Gibson posted the news to social media:

It appears that Sean McLaughlin who was a main anchor at KPHO before the merger of the stations in 2015 is moved back to be the the station’s Meteorologist.

Meredith has been simulcasting their morning news instead of producing separate newscasts for the two stations since shortly after the pandemic started.

Employees have been told that the simulcasting will end, but now with this latest Anchor shuffle, some aren’t so sure.

With Gibson moving to nights, no word on what happens to Anchor Kris Pickle, but one source says that she is getting knocked back to the Reporter ranks.

The station has been airing a promo about the new anchor switch over the weekend.

And, as Gibson gets bumped up from the morning show, Heidi Goitia who also anchored mornings has been exited from the station:
