FTVLive FIRST told you over the weekend that troubled Meredith station WGCL (Atlanta) is blowing up their morning newscast and relaunching it today.

They were supposed to launch it yesterday, but management at the station forgot Monday was a holiday and so they have decided to launch it this morning.

As FTVLive told you, evening Weather Anchor Ella Dorsey is moving to the morning show and yesterday, she went on Facebook Live to talk about it.

While talking about the morning show, Dorsey said, and I’m not making this up, “I’m going to be the center of it.”

In other words, screw the others on the show, it will be centered around me.

She then said that she will be able to use more of her personality, something she said she could not do in the evening, “other than my cool remarks.”

Her cool remarks? Do you mean like this one?

“This show will not be newsy at all,” Dorsey said about the new show. So, I guess it will not be a newscast, but more a show.

She was asked if this move was a promotion or a demotion?

“The morning show is the most important show of the day,” she said adding that it is a promotion. She also said that that the station’s best Producers are being moved to the morning show as well.

She said that the reason that people like her is that she is real and authentic. Ummmmm Okay.

About all the people cut by Meredith which included her station, Dorsey said the station looked at how people performed and how dedicated they were to the station and then made cuts. “I’m my opinion they (WGCL) made the right decisions there (as to who got whacked), Dorsey said.

She also said that Meredith had to make the cuts to stay afloat and that the station only makes money off of advertising. Of course, that is not true. The station makes huge money off retransmission agreements as well.

When asked about her work hours, she said that she will be working Mon-Thursday 3:15 am--12:30 pm with a 2-hour break to “run errands, or go home and take a nap.”

Dorsey then adds that on Friday, she will only work till 9 AM. She said that she told the station that she would not work on Fridays late, since they were making her get up so early.

So, let’s do the math…. 3:15 am--12:30 is 8 hours and 15 minutes. Take out the 2-hour break for a nap and that makes it 6 hours and 15 minutes. On Friday, she is only set to work for 6 hours and 15 minutes.

In other words, she is not even putting in a 40-hour workweek.

4 days a week she will also be on the Noon newscast, but ,I”'m not as excited about that show, but you can see me on there if you tune in.”

If I’m working at the station and I tuned into this Facebook live, I think I would have either thrown up, or put my fist through the screen.

But hey, that’s just me.
