Gone in Richmond (Updated)

Update: I made a bit of a goof on this story. The main part of this story is fine but in the last line, I wrote, “FTVLive hears that another popular WRIC Anchor is looking to leave as well.” I mixed up my Richmond stations with that line. There is a very popular Richmond Anchor looking to leave, but it’s across the street at WTVR, not WRIC.

FTVLive regrets the error, but since it caused a bit of a headache for our longtime buddy WRIC News Director Shane Moreland, we don’t regret it that much.

Here is the original story we posted:

WRIC Anchor Morgan Dean got choked up as he told viewers that he was leaving the station after 26 years.

Word is that the station did not renew his contract.

Here is his goodbye in which another Anchor had to jump in as Dean got a bit emotional.
