TODAY.... Nexstar Takes Control of Tribune

It is expected that today is the day that Nexstar takes control of the Tribune stations.

Sources tell FTVLive that a number of people Tribune were told that their services are no longer needed. HR and Technology people seem to head the list of those that were let go.

None of this was unexpected as Nexstar will be getting rid of the overlap when the companies combine.

The big question is if they will start pink-slipping people in the newsrooms?

Nexstar management has told some employees that they think that many of the Tribune stations have a “bloated” news staff.

Sources tell FTVLive that a town hall meeting has been called for Friday at 2:30PM Eastern time. The meeting will be conducted by satellite, where Nexstar management will be filling in the Tribune employees as to how they expect run their stations.
