Sticking Around a Bit Longer

It was thought that WKBW (Buffalo) Anchor Keith Radford would be leaving the Scripps station at the end of the year.

Radford is the longtime Anchor that replaced the legendary Irv Weinstein on the Anchor desk.

Sadly Radford was also stuck working for Granite Broadcasting which drove WKBW and their ratings into the ground. The station was bought by Scripps, but it has never recovered from the Granite years and still remains marred in last place.

As for Radford, under his current deal, he works about four hours daily, anchoring at 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

“I don't know for sure yet, but I think I'm going to stay a little longer,” said Radford. He added he has had preliminary talks with station management about staying.

“I'm going to keep going for a little while longer,” said Radford. “I suspect I’ll stay at least for another year after this year.”

“I go in, I rewrite everything I read and then I go over all the scripts of the younger people,” said Radford. “So, it is pretty good.”

Yes, TV news in 2019, has a lot of “younger people” whose scripts need going over.
