Many inside and outside CBS are worried that Norah O’Donnell might not be the answer to their problems.

O’Donnell was named the news CBS Evening News Anchor and some suits at CBS are worried after her start in that role.

“She just doesn’t have “It”…. ,“ said one network executive to FTVLive.

Watching O’Donnell on the ground at the El Paso mass shooting felt more like you were watching a mid market local news anchor.

CBS is hoping that once they move the show to DC this Fall, ratings will get better. Right now, O’Donnell’s numbers are awful, even in her hometown of DC. Looking at her numbers on DC’s WUSA, show that she has a long way to go.

“I don’t think she’s the answer that CBS was looking for,” says a top TV news agent to FTVLive.

There is no doubt that the CBS was hoping for a better start to this new era.

Also, if CBS is going to be covering the looming recession, it might be best if you spell recession correctly.
