Making a Difference

While some Reporters want viewers to pay money to chat with them online, there are other Reporters that are doing real journalism and making a difference.

KGUN (Tucson) Reporter Shawndrea Thomas started a podcast called “Intrigued Full Effect” earlier this year. In her podcast she covers missing persons and cold cases involving people of color, because the reality is that not all cases get equal coverage.

Often you see lots of TV coverage when a young white girl of boy go missing, but rarely does that happen when the kid is Black or Hispanic.

Thomas thought she would try and change that through her podcast and it got the attention on ABC News.

The network did a story about Paula Hill and her effort to find her missing daughter Shemika Cosey, who has been gone since 2008.

It was one of Tomas’s first podcast subjects and it got the attention of ABC.

Here is the story that ABC did and it includes Thomas and mentions her podcast.

It’s great to see a Reporter that is using their talents in a positive way and trying to make a difference.

Good for Her!
