WVIT(Hartford) Political Reporter Max Reiss is leaving TV news for the dark side.

Starting next week, Reiss will be the new communications director for Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont.

Reiss has been with the NBC O&O for the past 5 years.

"These personnel adjustments will allow us to leverage the experience and expertise of these individuals in a way that best supports my administration’s goals going forward," the governor said in a press release. "Following my first legislative session, I conducted a holistic review to evaluate my office structure and needs relative to my goals."

"Leveraging Max’s political, policy, and new media experience will benefit my administration and its agencies," said Lamont.
