Greed?

Sinclair’s KMTR (Eugene, Oregon) has fallen off of DirecTV as the two corporate giants fight over retransmission fees.

Needless to say, viewers are not happy.

On the KMTR website, Sinclair posted a Q&A and this was their answer to the question if this was all about greed?

First off, this is not a “local business” the station is owned by Sinclair which has it corporate office located about 3000 miles away. Also, they don’t point out the ad dollars that the station brings in.

So yeah…. this is about greed and in the end the two sides will agree on a deal, the details of the deal will not be made public and those same viewers that are complaining will see their DirecTV bill go up.

Sinclair and DirecTV will both get a little bit richer.
