Like a gift to tabloid news, this weekend OJ Simpson joined Twitter.

The former star NFL running back and convicted felon jumped on Twitter and quickly closed in on half a million followers.

Simpson said that when he left prison in the State of Nevada, that he wanted to live out his life quietly outside the spotlight.

But, people that know Simpson knows he craves attention and Twitter seems to be his new quest to do it.

It is not lost on people, that it the same week he jumped on the social media platform, it is also the 25th anniversary of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman. Simpson was arrested for the murders but was found not guilty of the crime.

It his second tweet, Simpson said that he will use his Twitter posts to talk about sports and yes even politics.
