Really?
/Let’s face it, when it comes to apps on your phone, not many TV stations have a good one.
But, that doesn’t stop stations from trying to push their apps on viewers, every chance the get.
But sometimes, it seems more than a bit cold.
Cox’s WSOC (Charlotte) posted a story to their website about a police officer that was shot and killed in the line of duty.
In the second line of the posted story, WSOC started bragging about how viewers that have the station’s app on their phone, first learned about the shooting at 12AM.
Here’s a screenshot of the story:
I’m not sure using a police officer’s death to pimp your app is really a good idea.
Second, you brag that app users learned of the shooting after 12AM and in the story, the station says that the cop was shot around 10PM. That means it took 2 hours just to get the story to app users and even longer for it to make your website.
Not sure I would be bragging about that.
Just saying….
