Another New Orleans Talent Killed in Plane Crash

Back in August, FTVLive told you that WVUE (New Orleans) Anchor Nancy Parker was killed in a plane crash while working on a story of a stunt pilot.

Now, the sad news comes down that another Big Easy Reporter has been killed in another plane crash.

WDSU Sports Reporter Carley McCord was killed in a plane crash Saturday, according to family.

McCord was riding in a private plane from Lafayette to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta with friends to watch LSU play Oklahoma.

McCord worked for a number of media outlets. Working as a freelance sideline Reporter for Cox Sports Television, ESPN3, and WDSU-TV.

“Words cannot express the tremendous amount of sorrow our entire staff holds for Carley and her family,” said WDSU News Director Akili Franklin. “She was an extraordinary woman and a talented reporter. We offer our deepest condolences to her family and friends." "She will be severely missed.”

She was just 30 years old.
