After more than a dozen years at Scripps KSHB (Kansas City) Anchor Christa Dubill says that she is leaving the station.

As to why she is leaving? It’s to….say it with me….spend more time with her family.

“I love my work and the staff at 41 Action News. I love being able to share the amazing stories with and for our viewers each night. But this demanding role leaves me little time to spend with my boys,” Dubill said. “I am grateful to station management and my co-workers who worked hard to accommodate my work-life balance, but at the end of the day, this is the right decision for me and my family right now.”

“Christa has shared this family life struggle with us for a while now. While we wanted her to stay with us full-time, we understand and support her decision to leave the station,” Kathleen Choal, VP & GM KSHB-TV, said.

"KSHB-TV is grateful to Christa for her hard work and dedication to the station, her co-workers and to the community we serve each day," Choal said. "We are working with Christa to find ways for her to continue telling the incredible stories that highlight the heart and soul of Kansas City in special reports in the future."

Dubill’s last day on-air will be Dec. 16.

The station is now looking for her replacement.
