Last week, FTVLive told you FIRST and EXCLUSIVELY that KTVU (San Francisco) Anchor Alyana Gomez is leaving The Firm’s Bay Area station and she is headed to Seattle. We told you that Gomez is becoming the Main Anchor at the newly acquired Nexstar station KCPQ in Seattle.

4 days ago, FTVLive wrote, “While there has been no official announcement at KTVU, you can expect one soon. Also, look for the memo to go out to the staff at Nexstar’s Seattle station telling them of the new hire.”

Well here is the internal memo sent out by KCPQ News Director Erica Hill and obtained by FTVLive.

We’ll sit over here and try and not look smug while you read it:

I’m excited to announce a great addition to our Q13 News team. Alyana Gomez will be joining us as a co-anchor in our late newscasts starting in November!

Alyana and her family are relocating from San Francisco where she has spent the last three years as an anchor and reporter at KTVU, the FOX affiliate. Alyana is an experienced and award winning journalist who, prior to her time in San Francisco, worked as an anchor/reporter for NBC Connecticut, WJAX in Jacksonville Florida and WMDT in Maryland. During her career, she led the startup of a consumer investigative unit and earned multiple journalism awards for enterprise reporting and in depth coverage. Alyana is an exceptional journalist and I am looking forward to her bringing her experience and passion to our newsroom.

Alyana is excited to join our team – here’s a message from her to all of you:

“What Q13 News is doing in Western Washington, for its community, is really something special. I admire the team's passion and success in telling and producing meaningful stories that matter to people, in a memorable way! Being chosen to be a part of this newsroom of talented journalists, is an incredible honor! I can't wait to get started and look forward to meeting everyone very soon!”

Please join me in welcoming Alyana to our team! Her first day in our newsroom will be October 28th.

BTW, when we posted this news 4 days ago, we told you that a Bay Area blogger would be behind FTVLive with the news, but would try to claim he had it first, or it was “exclusive.”

Right on cue, he posted this 3 days after FTVLive, claimed it was “exclusive” and had wrong information:
