Nexstar's No Credit is a Big Problem

Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that Nexstar is canceling the credit cards that some of the Tribune employees were issued under the old company.

They also will not be issuing new cards.

One Tribune turned Nexstar employee is not happy about the company cutting up their credit card.

In an email to FTVLive, the employee voices their frustration and makes some good points:

The most frustrating issue with losing the credit cards is that they weren't just used for travel. We used them nearly every day for parking. I know in small markets there is plenty of off-street free parking, but cities like (Reacted by FTVLive) where I am you have to pay nearly everywhere downtown. I assume it's similar in Chicago, Los Angeles, many of the other big markets where Nexstar now has stations. They are also used for vehicle maintenance, car washes, tons of stuff that doesn't actually fall under 'travel and entertainment'.

These expenses will now have to be picked up by the employees and reimbursed later, which may be for the executives is fine, but your run of the mill photog might not be able to fork over $100/week for parking expenses even if they are reimbursed.

That's not even getting into the fact that they gave us 2 days warning.

If Nexstar wants to own stations in big markets, they may have to stop thinking like a small market company.

Just saying…
