Maddow Calls Out NBC Bosses

As we read Ronan Farrow’s book Catch and Kill, it became clear to us that NBC News needed to clean house from the top down.

We have reported on a number of people that work at NBC, that have said that they have lost all respect for management, namely NBC Chairman Andy Lack and News President Noah Oppenheim.

While it is easy for us to call out NBC and easy for staffers at NBC to speak out anonymously, Rachel Maddow showed guts on Friday night.

Maddow went on her show and basically called her bosses liars and said that it is not a good environment inside 30 Rock.

While the management at NBC continues to deny that the spiked Farrow’s story on Harvey Weinstein, Maddow claims that her own investigation says they did exactly that.

Maddow spent over 16 minutes of her show, calling out her bosses and saying that the atmosphere Inside NBC is not good.

She also got NBC to say that they will release any women out of the NDA’s that they agreed to. NBC says the women need to contact NBC and will be let out of their NDA.

Why do they need to contact NBC’s lawyers? That might scare some of the women off. Why not just say that any woman that signed an NDA with NBC is no longer bound by the NDA.

Is NBC looking to sweeten the pot for those women that want to talk? Throw more money at them to shut them up?

FTVLive gives huge props for Maddow talking a bold step in this fight.

NBC needs to do what’s right, Lack and Oppenheim. need to join Matt Lauer on the former employee list.

Watch Maddow take the very bold step and try to make NBC do the right thing.
