Finally!

Many that work in TV news in LA do so as Freelancers.

It is a way for the LA stations to save money and not have to pay benefits. It is sad that this is the life for so many in LA TV news, but it's just a fact.

Every now and then, if you freelance long enough and don't complain, you might actually get hired on full time at the station.

For longtime KNBC freelancer Aliya Jasmine, that is exactly what happened.

After 4 years doing a good job, Jasmine finally gets a full-time gig and benefits.

Good for her and it's about damn time!
