Crossing the Street in Ft. Wayne

WANE announced that they have hired a new Anchor and they had to just look across the street to find them.

Dirk Rowley was hosting a lifestyle show on Ft. Wayne's WPTA, but now is moving over to WANE as a main Anchor.

Rowley will be teamed with longtime WANE Anchor Terra Brantley and co-anchor NewsChannel 15’s top-rated 5, 6, and 11 p.m. newscasts every weeknight.

Rowley is best known as a long-time host of the popular “Majic in the Morning” radio show on local station WAJI, where he spent 14 years helping Fort Wayne wake up every weekday morning.

“What a privilege to bring such a seasoned and committed Fort Wayne media VIP to WANE,” said WANE News Director Ted Linn. “Dirk loves Fort Wayne, loves this area and it shows. To team the depth of Dirk Rowley with the immense talents of Terra Brantley gives WANE the dream team on the news desk. I couldn’t be more excited about the future.”

"Anyone can see the commitment WANE-TV has to Fort Wayne. I’m excited to join a team that values local news and local people. I look forward to adding a new chapter with Terra to NewsChannel 15’s rich and winning tradition,” Rowley said.

He starts his new gig in mid-August.
