Fox and Friends Host is Sued (Updated)

It sure looks like someone has an axe to grind....

Back in June of 2015, FTVLive told you that Fox & Friends, co-host Pete Hegseth tossed an axe to tease an upcoming segment on timbersports.

He missed the target completely, the axe flying over the top and hitting a drummer right in the arm that was standing behind the target.

Well, 3 years later and the drummer is suing Hegseth.

The dummer, who's name is Jeff Prosperie, filed a lawsuit against Hegseth for being “negligent, wanton, reckless and carless in, among other things, throwing an axe in an area where he knew or should have known that pedestrians were present.”

The drummer also claimed that he suffered “severe and serious personal injuries to his mind and body, some of which, upon information and belief, are permanent with permanent effects of pain, disability, disfigurement and loss of body function.”

After he was struck, Prosperie posted on Facebook to express his outrage with the incident. “My leadership told me they were told there would be no axe throwing,” he wrote. “I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it.”

Update: Fox News released this statement about the incident:

"The incident involving Jeff Prosperie from 2015 was unfortunate and completely unintentional. FOX News immediately apologized to Prosperie and offered medical assistance, which he declined saying he was 'okay.' The network also offered compensation, which he declined as well. We have not heard from Prosperie since 2015, so the lawsuit is surprising and we are reviewing it."
