FTVLIve spies spotted KUTV (Salt Lake City) News Director Mike Garber in DC.

It seems that Garber is pitching for the News Director job at Sinclair’s WJLA.

FTVLive FIRST told you earlier this month that WJLA News Director Mitch Jacob quit the station in middle of the November book.

Garber is currently the ND at Sinclair’s sister station in Salt Lake and insiders there say he is a tyrant. A number of those working at KTVU say they are really hoping Garber lands the gig in DC, just to get him out of their newsroom.

Garber ended up in Salt Lake after lasting just two years at KTVT the CBS O&O in Dallas. Garber’s reign in Dallas was not a good one, it was marked by numerous major personnel changes and departures, plus declining ratings.

The good news, if he lands the gig in DC, it is likely the ratings will not decline much, since they are already very low.

Staffers in Salt Lake City are praying that Garber lands the WJLA and their problem now becomes DC’s problem.
