Turmoil in San Diego

Sources tell FTVLive that there is big trouble at KUSI in San Diego and much of it is focusing on News Director Steve Cohen.

Sources say that the station’s HR department is investigating complaints against Cohen.

On the back of the letter it is written, “a joke from MM II” which staffers say refers to station owner Mike McKinnon II. Some staffers believe that the handwriting on the back of the note is Steve Cohen’s. Word is that Cohen denies this.

The letter was about the claims against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. KUSI HR Director Sally Luck says the note was used to show that anyone can make anonymous allegations and that the letter was used as an example and was not a joke.

Newsroom staffers say that the letter was written to be funny and poke fun at those that came forward with claims against Kavanaugh.

Here is an internal email that a Producer sent to HR and obtained by FTVLive:

A News Manager tells FTVLive that they were persuaded to lie on Cohen’s behalf and has refused.

Newsroom sources say that a number of people have recently resigned to to the newsroom environment.

How this all plays out is still yet to be seen.
