The man accused of threatening CNN actor Don Lemon has plead not guilty.
Benjamin Craig Matthews along with his public defender appeared in court Thursday.
Matthews is accused of making death threats against Lemon entered not guilty pleas to more than a dozen charges related to threats against Lemon and harassing phone calls to other public figures and organizations.
Matthews was arrested on five felony counts of terroristic threatening, nine misdemeanor counts of harassing communications and four misdemeanor counts of second-degree terroristic threatening.
In court Thursday, Webb ordered Matthews to remain in contact with his attorney or potentially be at risk of a contempt of court charge. Webb told Matthews the order was not a threat and the order was in his best interest and would allow Cooper to effectively handle Matthews case.
"I appreciate that your honor, fully understood," Matthews said, the only words he spoke during his brief appearance. Matthews remains free on a $15,000 bond he posted Saturday.
