Houston Sports Anchor Bart Enis got the blade, but he seems to be rolling with it.

Enis, a Houston sports television sports reporter and anchor since the mid-1980s who survived the transition from Fox Sports Houston to Comcast SportsNet Houston to AT&T SportsNet Southwest, said Monday his contract with the AT&T network was not renewed.

Enis, 57, who hosted pre- and postgame shows and served as a field reporter for Astros and Rockets games, said his final day with the network was Sept. 30.

"It's TV," Enis said. "The only constant is change. If you can't deal with that, you're in the wrong business."

"The gig I just left was the most fun I've had in television," he said. "I covered the teams I grew up rooting for, and I got to work with Calvin Murphy and Rudy Tomjanovich and Larry Dierker and Jimmy Wynn, guys I watched as a kid. That was awesome.

He says he hopes to stay in the Houston area.
