How the Media and Brian Stelter Completely missed the Message

Oprah Winfrey stood up at the Golden Globes and gave a powerful message.

It was watched by millions of people and many millions more have watched her speech on the internet.

So how did the media and Brian Stelter not hear a word she said?

Oprah was taking her powerful voice and making a major stand for the #MeToo movement. She was trying to move a powerful movement even further ahead. She closed her speech out by saying, "So I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say "Me too" again."

But, many in the media (mainly cable news) and Brian Stelter only heard Oprah say, I want to be the President in 2020.

What was supposed to be a rousing speech for women that have put up with the inappropriate behavior of many men for too long was completely lost on the media.

Oprah's speech is not being reported as another giant leap in the movement, it's being used as a stepping stone for the White House.

A great speech has been wiped out by people like Brian Stelter who are now obsessing on something that Oprah has never even said.

She has never said she running for President and it is still over 2 years away from the election.

Here was a massive moment for women and once again some guy (Stelter) screwed it up.

Let's forget about 2020 for a bit and let's focus on what Oprah message to men and women about change.

We can worry about the White House later, let's worry about the problem at hand right now.

That was the message Oprah Winfrey delivered.

Not a stumping speech for office.

We beg men that have sexually harassed women for years and we beg Brian Stelter and the rest of cable news. Please Stop!

Let the message be the message without you ruining it.
