KKTV (Colorado Springs) Anchor David Nancarrow aanounced that he's leaving the station and TV news altogether.

Nancarrow confirmed that he has taken the position of Director of Communications for Falcon School District 49.

“This is very bittersweet,” said Nancarrow. “KKTV 11 News gave me the enviable opportunity to work in the place I’ve always considered home, as well as giving me fulfilling and challenging assignments and multiple avenues to grow as a journalist. Although its time to explore a new and rewarding challenge, it is very difficult to say goodbye. I've watched School District 49 grow over the years and I'm thrilled to be a part of its promising future.”

A Colorado State graduate, Nancarrow joined KKTV in 2003 after spending time at CBS affiliate KFDA in Amarillo, Texas. During his time at the KKTV, he worked his way up from reporter to morning anchor.

“We really hate to lose Dave but it’s a great opportunity for him,” said KKTV general manager Nick Matesi. "He’s been a crucial part of what we do for 15 years and has been a part of every big story since then."

His last day on air will be January 19.
