Tegna Grounds Chopper in Dallas

It appears that WFAA is landing their news helicopter for good.

"HD Chopper 8" is being sold and WFAA is going to start  ime-sharing a Robinson R66 flying machine with KDFW and KTVT.

Robinsons are the Walmart of choppers.

WFAA president and general manager Mike Devlin has a standing “no comment” policy with Ed Bark, who broke the news.

Tegna made the choice to ground HD Chopper 8, ending the station’s long run as the only D-FW TV news station with its own, independently owned helicopter.
