Hartford Anchor Out

FTVLive has learned that WVIT and main Anchor Brad Drazen is leaving the station this week after 17 years.

He said that he and management at the NBC O&O did not see eye to eye and his last day is Thursday.

Since 2014, Drazen had been the main Anchor of the early evening shows and also worked on the investigative team for the station. "I have had almost every job you can do at this station," Drazen told FTVLive.

He spent 7 years as the station's morning anchor and won a number of awards while at WVIT. He would not give a reason for leaving, but did say that he was leaving, after not, "liking what I saw coming."

A co-worker of Drazen's tells FTVLive, "They (WVIT) are screwing over a great guy and a great anchor."

Drazen remained on the high road as we talked to him. He spoke no ill will of the station and wishes his former co-workers nothing but the best.

As for what's next? "I have three teenage children, so staying unemployed for a longtime is not an option," he told FTVLive.

He says he does have some opportunities that he's looking at and expects to move fast.

Stay tuned....
