A familiar face is returning to the Miami television market. 

Louis Aguirre is headed to WPLG in SoFlo.  

Aguirre was working on the syndicated show "The Insider" but the show was canceled and Aguirre was looking to head back to the Sunshine State. 

Aguirre worked at WPLG from 1988 to 1992, he then moved to WSVN for over a decade.  He also worked at Fox News. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Louis back to South Florida, and back to WPLG, the station where his career began,” said WPLG President Bert Medina. 

Aguirre will return to WPLG in September as he replaces Victor Oquendo, who is leaving the station to become a correspondent with ABC News.
