Gag Me....

Despite the fact their their station owner is headquartered over 2,000 miles away, this Nexstar station wants you to know they are "living local."

Reporters at WTEN are being told that while they are trying to report stories for May sweeps, they need to take some time out to read some scripted lines for a "corporate promo."

And please do it while the weather is nice OK? Here's the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive.

We have a corporate mandated project due Monday.  Since the weather is nicer today, please try to get done today.  I need every reporter/talent to pick one of the lines below, and say it on camera.  Have fun, non-news voice.  Once shot, please send clip to myself and Zak Radick, or let us know where it is.  This project is mandatory, and needs to be done TODAY (due to bad weather tomorrow). Morning reporters, please shoot indoors tomorrow. You just need to shoot it on location where you are.

What happens if everyone picks the same line to read? Also, are Reporters really going to say the line, "THIS IS WHERE WE WANT TO BE" and sound believable?

I mean it's the Nexstar station in Albany....dose anyone really want to be there?
