Billy Bush Wishes He Would Have Changed the Subject

Billy Bush has started his redemption tour and is trying to polish up his tarnished image.

Bush was on a high, landing a high paying job at NBC's Today Show and just getting back from covering the Olympics, when his credibility got run over by a bus.

The bus was the one that he and Donald Trump were sitting on years earlier, while Bush was working for Access Hollywood.

Trump made crude remarks about women and talked about sexually assaulting them. Bush laughed at Trump's comments and while Trump was elected President, the Today Show has higher standards and they fired Bush.

Now, Bush is talking about his bus ride for the first time. Telling the Hollywood Reporter  "Looking back upon what was said on that bus, I wish I had changed the topic. [Trump] liked TV and competition. I could've said, 'Can you believe the ratings on whatever?' But I didn't have the strength of character to do it."

Or how about the strength to say, "you know what, sexual assault is a crime you asshole." That might have been more appropriate then talking about the ratings.

But, this is Billy Bush, a guy that laughed along with Trump and now says he's sorry. "I am not grateful for the moment," he says. "But I'm grateful for what I've gotten out of it. I'm grateful that it hit me all the way to my core."

He also says that he's ready to get back to work and let's be honest, that's the only reason he's sorry in the first place.

Just saying....
