Chicago Weather Anchor Headed to New York

OK....this is still hush, hush, so don't tell anyone.... OK?

Sources tell FTVLive that WMAQ Weather Anchor Byron Miranda is blowing out of the Windy City and landing in the Big Apple.

Miranda is the NBC O&O's meterologist for the 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. newscasts.

We hear that he's headed WPIX in New York. He will be the morning Weather Anchor replacing Linda Church.

This also means he is leaving an NBC O&O to go to a station that will likely soon be owned by Sinclair.

Are you sure you want to do that Byron?

From 2002 to 2005, Miranda worked at KCBS in Los Angeles as the chief meteorologist for the station’s weekly evening newscasts.

Look for an official word on his move soon and at that point (once the press release is sent out) you will see the story on the other sites.

We just figured that we'd give it to your first, like always.

Again this is all on the QT...so don't tell anyone.
