Houston Anchor will Finally Say Goodbye

Longtime Houston Anchor Dave Ward retired in December, but he never got the chance to say goodbye.

After anchoring the news for 50 years, when it came time to say goodbye, Ward's health took a turn for the worse and he was in the hospital.

Well....now he's going to finally get to say goodbye and of course the station is waiting for the May book to start before he does it.

Mike McGuff says that Ward will appear on KTRK's May 2nd 6PM newscast to say goodbye.

The day after he signs off from the KTRK newsdesk, Ward will be honored by Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

His ceremony will take place in front of Houston City Hall (May 3, 11am).

It's nice after 50 years on the air, he will get to say goodbye to the viewers.
