New Hire in Ft. Myers

Deanne Brink was the morning anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. Now, she has landed a job in Southwest Florida.

Going from Nebraska to South Florida has to feel a bit like winning the lottery. 

Brink becomes the new morning Anchor at WINK in Ft. Myers. Here is the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Please welcome Deanne Brink to WINK News.
 
Deanne will be joining WINK News as a morning anchor beginning May 8th. Most recently, Deanne was the morning anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. She has a wide-ranging background as an award winning print journalist, freelance reporter, public relations specialist, and more. Prior to KMTV, Deanne was a project manager for Level 9 Studios, a production company in St. Joseph, Missouri. It was also in St. Joseph, she was the primary anchor at KQTV. Deanne also spent 7 years working as a freelance reporter in her hometown of Kansas City, and she was a reporter and producer for on Main Street, a program produced by the Lutheran Church. Deanne was also fortunate enough to work for the Kansas City Chiefs in public relations.
 
In 2013, Deanne won MS Nebraska USA. Deanne earned her Bachelor’s degree at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in Electronic Journalism & Communications and a Master’s degree in Psychology from Avila University in Kansas City.

Brink is replacing Jen Stacey whose contract was not renewed.

I have a feeling when December and January roll around, Brink is going to be very happy she's no longer in Omaha.
