Life is Coming Up Roses for a Chicago Anchor

WLS (Chicago) Sports Anchor Jim Rose works for a good station and feels confident about his job security. Don't you wish it could be like that for everyone working in TV news?

Anyway, Rose just plunked down $805,500 in September for a newly built, three-story town home in Logan Square.

Rose has been at the ABC O&O since 1982 and does the sports for the 4 and 6PM newscast.

After 35 years at the station, Rose and his wife decided a new home would be a nice addition. “I wanted a town home ... so I could use my woodworking shop,” he said.

The couple made a few bucks off their old home, in which they bought for 2014 for $1.51 million and sold in mid-2016 for their $2.075 million asking price.

Now, they paid just under a million for their new home that Jim and woodwork in.

It's sure all of you making $35,000 in this business and thinking about throwing some wood at Jim's head right about now.

But, don't hate the player, hate the game and remember, if you can hang on at your station for just another 33 years, you might have a home with a woodworking shop as well.

Dreams.
