WVIT in Hartford has named a new Chief Meteorologist, but it appears that not everyone is happy.
The NBC station named Ryan Hanrahan (pictured) as their new Chief Met and word is that longtime AM Weather Anchor Bob Maxon was not too happy about it.
Word is that after 2 decades on the AM shift, Maxon wanted the main gig and when he was passed over, he wasn't happy.
"He blew up in a closed door meeting with the news director," said one station insider to FTVLive.
Word is that Maxon stormed out of the ND's office and was not happy.
As for Hanrahan, he's been at the station a couple of years, coming from WNYT in Albany, New York.
But after putting in years and doing a good job, we have to ask.
BTW- the station's old Chief Met left under a cloud.
