The Journalist that is Ronan Farrow

When MSNBC gave Ronan Farrow his own show, FTVLive was critical of the move. We didn't think people would watch it and we didn't think he was ready to solo host a cable news program.

His ratings were low and it wasn't long before MSNBC pulled Farrow's show from its schedule and replaced it.

But, despite the fact that Farrow was not cut out to anchor cable news, he is one heck of a Journalist and he knows how to stay with a story.

Farrow first started covering the Harvey Weinstein story months ago for NBC. He had even conducted a number of on-camera interviews for the story.

But, Weinstein had friends in high places and at one point, NBC sources say, Farrow was told to stop covering the story for NBC.

But, that did not stop Farrow from letting go of the story.

He continued to cover it and even when NBC told Farrow he could not use an NBC camera crew for an interview with a woman who said she was raped by Weinstein, he hired a camera crew with his own money.

NBC tried to get him to stop covering the story and he took the story to The New Yorker magazine.

Farrow obtained audio in which Weinstein admits to having sexually assaulted Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez. The audio was recorded a day after Gutierrez had gone to the New York Police Department and told officers that Weinstein had groped her breasts and attempted to put a hand up her skirt.

Despite NBC pushing back and the Weinstein camp threatening legal action at every turn, Farrow stayed on the story until it was finally published.

It showed first hand that Farrow was a damn fine Journalist and could deliver a blockbuster story.

Ronan Farrow flamed out in cable news, but his reporting and work ethic showed he was much better than cable news, he was a real Journalist.
