Wife of LA Weatherman Charged with Assault

Here's a story you won't see on KABC in Los Angeles....

The wife of KABC's meteorologist Dallas Raines, Danielle, has been charged with with assaulting their daughter.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that according to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office, Danielle Raines is charged with one felony count of assault, allegedly beating her 25-year-old daughter as she drove Danielle home from a country club on Aug. 31.

Raines pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury.

According to court documents, she was allegedly drinking wine with her daughter at the country club when she pushed her daughter before she drove Raines home. While in the car later, Raines allegedly assaulted her daughter. When her daughter pulled over, Raines attempted to strangle her daughter before her daughter escaped, according to Deputy District Attorney Jodi Taksar.

Raines posted $30,000 bail that day. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

She is scheduled to return for a hearing on Oct. 24 at the Pasadena Courthouse.
