CBS Edits Clinton Soundbite

It appears CBS tried to cover what former president Bill Clinton probably wished he hadn't said.

In an interview with Charlie Rose about Hillary's recent fainting spell, Clinton slipped and said his wife "frequently - well not frequently - rarely....". Certainly, hearing that the Democratic presidential candidate frequently passes out is not something the Clinton campaign would like to have voters hear. When CBS edited the interview, they cut out the
"frequently" part. NewsBusters has the back-to-back clips.

The network later released this statement: The clip in question from former President Clinton’s interview with Charlie Rose ran in its entirety on CBS THIS MORNING, CBSNews.com and on CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 digital streaming news service. One clip that ran on CBS Evening News was edited purely for time while on deadline for the live broadcast.

We've been doing this for a long time and can smell b.s. a mile away. It takes Scott Pelley longer to say goodnight than the time saved in that edit.
