KGO News Van Involved in Fatal Crash

 The staff at KGO in San Francisco got a memo yesterday that one of the station's live trucks was involved in a fatal accident.  

The crash happened outside San Jose City Hall. 

No exact details as to what happened, but it appears that a driver ran a red light and hit another car, then one of, or both cars crashed into the KGO live truck. 

"There is a body under our van.  We do not know how that happened.  It may be a pedestrian," the memo to staff read. 

The KGO employees in the live truck, Chris Nguyen and Alex Gray were treated for some cuts and neck/back pain but appear to be OK. 

The San Jose Police released this statement about the accident:

The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision.
 
On Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 4:33 PM, San Jose Police Officers responded to N. 4th St. and E. Santa Clara St. on a report of a major injury traffic collision involving three vehicles. An adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other victims were transported to local area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. An adult male driver has been detained. Alcohol influence may be a factor in this investigation. All information is preliminary.
 
The identity of the victim will not be released until the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office has confirmed the victim's identity and notified next of kin.
