In an interview with Variety, talking about the two, Zucker said, “They are,” he says with a mischievous grin, “native advertising shops. We crush both of them. They are not even in our same class.”
BuzzFeed chief Ben Smith replied to Zucker's remark in a statement to Politico yesterday: “The most important test of any news organization this year is its coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign. I’m happy to put our tough, fair coverage up against CNN’s decision to turn its platform over to [Zucker’s] friend Donald Trump.”
Of course, Smith was referring to Corey Lewandowski is being paid by both Trump and CNN to go on CNN's air and parrot Donald Trump.
Zucker has stood by Lewandowski's hiring, saying that it is very hard to find television-ready political analysts who favors Trump.
Maybe, just maybe Zucker should ask himself, why that is?
