Indianapolis Reporter Fired After Shoplifting Arrest (Updated)

Sources tell FTVLive that an Indianapolis Reporter is no longer with the station after being arrested on shoplifting charges.

Sources say that WISH Reporter Evan Johnson was arrested by police and charged with shoplifting from a local Walmart.

Word is that a brief memo was sent to the staff, saying that Johnson is no longer employed by the station. As of now, his bio remains on the station's website.  (Update: After FTVLive posted this story the station quickly took down John's bio)

Johnson has been at WISH for just over a year and a half, coming from WBIR in Knoxville.

Sources tell FTVLive that the station found out about Johnson's arrest when people were told to report to work as word leaked that Indiana Governor Mike Pence was going to be named Trump's running mate.

Johnson did not show up to work and staff started making calls. That's when they would out he was in police custody.

FTVLive obtained the memo sent to the staff advising them that Johnson no longer works at WISH.
