Burying the Owner in Columbus

A few days ago, FTVLive told you that the man that owned WBNS in Columbus and WTHR in Indianapolis had died.

John Wolfe, a giant in Columbus, whose family owned the Columbus Dispatch for over 100 years, passed away on Friday.

Yesterday Wolfe was laid to rest and it was interesting how his funeral was covered by the Columbus stations.

WBNS, the station he owned, basically went wall to wall with coverage.

Competitor WCMH went live from the funeral, but NO mention that Wolfe owned WBNS, despite mentioning a laundry list of other business endeavors (see picture)

WSYX made no mention tonight of the funeral that was taking place during their newscast.
