O-Town Station Hires New/Old Weatherman

Back in October of 2013, FTVLive told you that News 13 (Orlando) Meteorologist Danny Treanor was retiring from the station.

In May of 2014, FTVLive told you that the "retired" Treanor had started freelancing across the street at WKMG.

Now it appears that Treanor is no longer retired at all. WKMG has announced that he will be the station's new Weekend Weather Anchor.

Here is the internal email that was sent to the staff along with the station press release. From: McGinley, Allison

WKMG NEWS 6 ANSWERS VIEWER'S WEATHER REQUESTS!
MORE PINPOINT WEATHER - MORE FAMILIAR FACES

In August 2015, News 6 introduced their new hyper-local weather brand, Pinpoint Weather to Central Florida.  Since then viewers have not only come to depend on it, they're asking for more!  More Pinpoint Weather from local neighborhoods and more Pinpoint Weather from their trusted Meteorologists.  Now, News 6 is giving them what they want!

More Pinpoint Weather from Local Neighborhoods!
To build up early evening weather coverage and add a unique layer for viewers, in January 2016 News 6 introduced a community and lifestyle driven element to their Pinpoint Weather coverage.  Meteorologist Candace Campos was assigned the new neighborhood Pinpoint Weather element and moved to 4pm-7:30pm weekdays to bring it to life.  That move allowed Candace to travel to communities all over Central Florida to bring Pinpoint Weather right into local neighborhoods.  Now only two months later, viewers want more and that is what she is going to do!  So look out Central Florida, Candace Campos will be coming to a neighborhood near you!

Adding to the On Air Pinpoint Weather Team!
News 6 introduces to the on air weather team Madeline Evans!  Madeline might be new to Central Florida viewers, but she has been part of the News 6 family for over a year and currently works behind the scenes as a weather producer.  Madeline will be sharing her Pinpoint Weather forecasts weekend mornings from 5-7am starting March 26th.

More Tom, Troy, Julie and...Danny!
Viewers have asked to see more Pinpoint Weather from Tom, Troy, Julie and now - Danny Treanor.  And now they can!  News 6 is bringing veteran Meteorologist Danny Treanor to weekend evenings at 6pm and 11pm starting March 19th.  Plus, Danny will continue to assist during the week in severe weather situations.  When that happens, viewers will get the full force of the most experienced meteorological team in Central Florida - the News 6 Weather Team.  The weekday team is lead by Emmy Award winning Chief Meteorologist Tom Sorrells and includes Meteorologists Troy Bridges, Julie Broughton and Candace Campos.
"Our viewers tell us that when severe weather strikes, they trust Tom, Troy, Julie, Candace and Danny to accurately forecast and provide important information on our broadcast and digital platforms," said V/P and General Manager Jeff Hoffman. Elizabeth Hart will be leaving News 6 to pursue other television options effective March 15, 2016.
