Buffalo Station Finally Fills ND Job with Cleveland Deuce

Struggling WKBW in Buffalo has been without a News Director since June.

That's when then News Director Lisa Polster walked out the door to become the morning EP across the street Media General's WIVB.

WKBW interviewed a number of people for the ND job, but either could not find the right person, or when they did, they didn't want the job.

Finally, the station has found someone willing to move to Buffalo just as winter gets started. No surprise, that person is coming from Cleveland.

The Scripps station has hired WOIO Assistant News Director Rob Heverling to be their new ND.

Here is the brief internal email, obtained by FTVLive, sent out by WOIO News Director Fred D'Ambrosi:

I’m pleased/sorry to announce that Rob Heverling is leaving Cleveland 19 News to become news director at WKBW-TV, the Scripps-owned ABC affiliate in Buffalo.
