Motown Anchor Headed to the Left Coast

KCAL (LA) has hired a new Anchor and he comes from the Motor City.

WXYZ Anchor Jeff Vaughn is joining KCBS/KCAL at the end of the book and will primarily serve as an anchor on KCAL’s weeknight prime time newscasts. In addition, he will contribute to other KCAL 9 and CBS 2 newscasts.

Vaughn has spent more than 10 years in Detroit, most recently with WXYZ-TV since January 2013. Previously, he worked in the Motor City as an anchor and reporter with WDIV-TV, the local NBC affiliate, for seven-and-a-half years (1999-2007). Vaughn is a three-time Emmy winner. In 2006, he received a Michigan Emmy for best large-market anchor. He won a Texas Emmy in 2012 for anchoring continuing coverage, and a Michigan Emmy in 2013 for anchoring breaking news
