She shared footage of her head being shaved Saturday. Her hair had been falling out from chemotherapy. She passed on wearing a wig on the air after getting advice from Facebook friends.

"Everyone said, 'You know what? Your hair doesn't define you.' And I said, 'Oh, well, then I should start trying to live that,' " Sanchez said.

"It's just very therapeutic for me to be open about what I'm going through," she said. "I want to be able to show everyone that it's just hair, and I can do this, and I can be strong through this."

Sanchez told her WKMG colleagues that she cried after her head was shaved.

"I woke up the next morning with these swollen eyes and this bald head, and I looked like Sloth from 'The Goonies,' " she said. "After that, I was like 'No more crying. This is ugly.' "

She said comments of support on Facebook made her feel good and  get-well cards from viewers "give me a lot of strength."

She vowed to continue to blog and said she will return to the hospital Wednesday for round two of chemotherapy.

"I know what to expect this time," she said.
