CNN's Jeff Zucker Taking Leave Of Absence

The head of CNN, Jeff Zucker, announced he's taking a six week leave of absence to address a heart condition.

According to Deadline, CNN's EVP of programming, Michael Bass, will take charge of the network while Zucker is gone. Bass workd with Zucker on 'Katie' and at NBCUniversal.

In 2010, Zucker was diagnosed with a heart condition known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Doctors told him at some point, he would need surgery to implant a defibrillator to treat the condition.
