Bone Chilling 52 Degrees

When it comes to the weather it's all relative. WPEC in West Palm Beach, Florida was doing a story about the "Winter Blast" that was hitting South Florida and "How to Keep Your Family Safe."

You can notice by the temperature bug on the screen, that at 11PM it was bone chilling 52 degrees.

Wow! Let's send our wishes to the folks in South Florida as they try and survive this brutal winter blast:

Out the Door in Nashville

No one is talking, but WTVF Anchor Jessica Ralston suddenly resigned yesterday "for personal reasons," and is gone from the station.

"Jessica asked that her resignation be effective immediately, and I agreed," WTVF News Director Boonstra said. "Any further details of her situation are a personnel matter, so due to our station's policies, I have nothing further to add."

Ralston had been at the Nashville station for a little more than a year.

She was also not commenting on why the sudden departure.

Gotta love the news business, demanding answers from everyone else and going silent when it is about one of their own.

Jimmy Fallon gets Creamed

Jimmy Fallon took over "The Tonight Show" one year ago and the host celebrated the milestone on the show Tuesday night.

While sitting at his desk he took the time to thank everyone who helped the show become a success. "I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you to all the staff and crew and everybody who has worked so hard on this show," the host told the crowd.

And you know when you're a big deal when Ben & Jerry's gives you your own flavor of ice cream.

Fallon revealed the new "The Tonight Dough" from Ben & Jerry's.

Would You Like a Hotdog with That Murder?

WFTS (Tampa) Reporter Ashley Yore got lucky Today. She was sent out to cover a murder and it just so happens it was right across street from a restaurant she's been dying to try (maybe "dying" is a bad choice of words, considering it was a murder).

You know you work in TV news when you think about food while covering a murder.

Just saying.

Here is her Tweet:

Leaving Sin City to Return to the Valley of the Sun

What’s old is new again at Meredith's KTVK in Phoenix.

Former KTVK weekend AM anchor Olivia Fierro, who left for sister station KVVU in Vegas, is returning to ‘Arizona’s Family’ as the AM co-anchor.

Fiero replaces Kaley O’Kelley who recently left for Dallas (FIRST reported by FTVLive).

She’ll join Scott Pasmore as co-anchor of Good Morning Arizona.

Boston Reporter Blown Away by Blizzard

WCVB's (Boston) Antoinette Antonio had a tough time even standing up while reporting on the Blizzard from the North Shore.

Check her out hanging onto the news car for for dear life:

That Was Close

WAVY Reporter Erin Kelly and photographer Rob Rizzo were set up on the side of the road covering the storm.

They left the camera rolling when an SUV careened out of control, crashed into another vehicle and then headed straight toward the camera, stopping within inches.

The crew was not near the camera and was back in the live truck at the time of the accident.

Rizzo was this/close to having to explain to his News Director why he needed a new camera.

Let's go to the video:

Touché

This Viewer took a crack at doing his own reporting on the Blizzard and we have to say he did a good job at showing how stupid some real Reporters look covering the storms.

I think he's looking right at you Jim Cantore.

Take a look:

I never understood why these Weather stations need to have a reporter out in the field dramatically reporting the conditions. Featuring Dave Blake as "The Weather Guy" and Steve DeLuca as "The Plow Guy"
