KC Cops Kill a Suspect Live on TV

Kansas City viewers watching KSHB this morning got a little blood and guts with their morning breakfast.

A carjacking suspect lead police on a high speed chase before crashing his car through a fence. At that point, 4 officers opened fire on the suspect, he died at the scene and on live TV.

KSHB's news chopper was providing live pictures and zoomed in as the man was being gunned down by police.

Some viewers took to social media to point out that they might not have needed to close up:

The station did blur out the video in later newscasts (picture above).

And there was this interesting tidbit as well:

Not saying this is the Reporter police were talking about. But she sure fits the description.

Jon Stewart Talks about Leaving The Daily Show

In his first words since announcing his departure from "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart talked to "Extra" exclusively on Thursday, opening up about when he's exactly leaving and who'll replace him.

Ex-SEAL Thinks BriWi's Story is Preposterous

Yesterday, the FTVLive Intern posted a story about how Brian Williams claimed that after Navy SEAL Bin Laden raid, a white envelope showed up on his desk at 30 Rock. He said inside was a piece of the fuselage of the blown-up chopper sent by one of his 'friends'.

Talking Points Memo writes that during three separate appearances on CBS' "The Late Show With David Letterman" in recent years, the NBC News anchor claimed that in 2003 he flew on a helicopter with SEAL Team 6, which later carried out the mission to kill bin Laden.

However, a former SEAL told the Huffington Post in an article published on Thursday that Williams stories about flying with the team and his relationship with its members are highly unlikely.

"My initial reaction is it sounds completely preposterous. There's a healthy dislike towards embedded journalists within the SEAL community," Brandon Webb, a former SEAL sniper, told the Huffington Post.

Let's get back to that piece of the fuselage of the blown-up chopper for a minute.

So, let's look at how this went down.

The Navy SEAL's are carrying on a highly dangerous top secret mission to get Bin Laden. One of their choppers crashes as they are landing in the compound.

Yet, they are still able to carry out the raid, get in a fire fight, kill Bin Laden, grab a mountain of evidence and head back to the "good" chopper that can still fly.

The team is loading the chopper with Bin Laden's body and other evidence, while setting the charges, to blow up the down chopper.

Instead of getting the hell out, the SEAL's decide to back off wait for the Chopper to blow up and then waste time and risk their lives to go back and get a few pieces of the blown up chopper to send to their good "friend" Brian Williams.

Really? "Preposterous" might be an understated word in this case.

Just saying....

More BriWi Lies?

It appears that more Brian Williams tall tales are being uncovered and once again it seems that BrIWi wanted to make sure you knew he was there when history was made.

NBC is now looking into claims made by Brian Williams that he met Pope John Paul II while in college and was in Germany for the historic fall of the Berlin Wall.

Tom Brokaw was historically the only American anchor who was present the night the Berlin Wall fell, but it seems that Williams may have claimed he too was there, while working with WCBS-TV.

'I've been so fortunate,' said Williams in a 2008 forum at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library according to CNN.

'I was at the Brandenburg Gate the night the wall came down.'

And while Williams did witness some of the wall's removal, an NBC source said as a matter of fact; 'Brian arrived the day after the wall came down.'

Furthermore, in a 2004 interview, Williams said he 'arrived at the Berlin Wall a day after -- more like 12 hours after -- Tom Brokaw did.'

However, at a November 8, 2014 gala he stated; 'Here's a fact: 25 years ago tonight, Tom Brokaw and I were at the Berlin Wall.'

As for his meeting with Pope John Paul II, while Williams did acknowledge the fact the Pope vicited Catholic College while he attended, it wasn't until 2004 that he suddenly said during a commencement speech at the same university that he met he man, and shook his hand.

Following his death however, Williams said; 'I was a student at Catholic University, and over the course of two hours, chatted up a Secret Service agent who spilled like a cup of coffee and told me that the pope would be coming our way, straight up the steps of a side door at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. I positioned myself and held out my hand and said, "Welcome to Catholic University, Holy Father." And he embraced my hand with both of his, made the sign of the cross, and said a blessing to me.'

How is it possible that this guy comes back to NBC News?

He Just Keeps Going and Going

Tonight, Lester Holt anchors NBC Nightly News for the 7th night in a row.

No word if NBC will use someone else to replace Holt on his normal Weekend shift, but don't be surprised if Holt is there on the Saturday and Sunday as well. Along with doing Weekend Today.

Forget "Iron Pants" this guy is Iron MAN.

At this point, Holt might make Rokerthon look like a walk in the park.

Scott Pelley Rushed to CBS to Deliver the Simon News

CBS Anchor Scott Pelley was seeing a Broadway show with his wife, Jane, Wednesday night when the “CBS Evening News” anchor got word his “60 Minutes” colleague Bob Simon was tragically killed in a car accident.

Pelley had arrived at the Nederlander Theatre on West 41st Street to see “Honeymoon in Vegas,”  but made an abrupt exit during the performance.

“Scott rushed to the studio as soon as he got word that Bob Simon had passed away,” a source said. “Moments later, he broke into network programming at 10 p.m. to deliver the news of his colleague’s death.”

Pelley looked red-eyed as he related the sad news on-air.

Pelley, who rarely tweets, took to Twitter to remember his friend:
