Bin Laden Shooter Takes Fox News to Top of the Ratings

The Navy SEAL that shot Osama Bin Laden help make the Fox News Channel number 1 with a bullet.

Part one of the two part report pulled in just under 3 million viewers, making it FNC’s most-watched 3rd most watched program in the 10 o’clock hour in 2014.

The program also pulled over a million viewers in the demo. FNC had more demo viewers that CNN had total viewers.

FNC's part two with Navy SEAL Robert O'Neil aired last night.

South Florida Reporter Headed to Dallas, But Not Taking his Name with Him

WPTV Reporter Jeff Skrzypek is leaving the Palm Beach station and headed to KTVT in Dallas. But, he won't be taking his name with him.

Jeff Skrzypek will become Jeff Paul when he pops up on the Dallas station in mid-December.

Skrzypek joined WPTV News Channel 5 in November of 2011 , before that working as a MMJ at KEZI in Eugene, Oregon.

Not sure what his parents think about his name change, but we're betting that the Anchors at KTVT are happy.

Just saying....

NFL Network Production Truck is Stolen in Miami

Tonight, my Buffalo Bills are playing the Miami Dolphins in South Florida. The game is schedule to be on the NFL Network, but there is one small problem.

The truck that was to be used to help produce the game was stolen in Miami.

Eisen tweeted out that it was a satellite truck that was swiped, but then later learned in was a production truck. The truck was stolen out of a Miami Gardens, Florida hotel today where it was parked and being prepped for the game.

It had hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment onboard.

This could give new meaning to the term "stole the show."

Proving That No One Has an Original Idea Anymore....

Proving that non one has an original idea anymore, NBC is bringing back the show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."

The Hollywood Reporter says that the Peacock has ordered a new pilot for the show famously hosted by Robin Leach in the 1980s and '90s.

America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon will play Leach's role on the redo.

Of course, MTV was doing the same style of show with 'MTV Cribs' for years.

Can't anyone come up with something new?

Just asking....

Soon to Be Indianapolis CBS Station Names News Anchors

On January 1st, WISH in Indianapolis is losing their affiliation with CBS. Needless to say many staffers have left or are looking to leave the station. Morale is not good.

But, across the street at WTTV, things are looking up. The also ran CW station owned by Tribune will become the CBS station in town and the station is moving fast to fill jobs and get a news operation up and running.

Today, WTTV announced who their new News Anchors will be. WTTV said that Debby Knox and Bob Donaldson will anchor the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.  They will be joined by meteorologist Chris Wright.

The 5 a.m. newscast will be anchored by Marianne Lyles and Tim Doty. Lindsay Riley will join the team as the morning meteorologist.

“We listened to what local viewers told us they wanted in a news team and a newscast.   The team we’ve built for WTTV will bring a high level of local knowledge and experience, as a viewer I can’t wait to see this new team on the air,” said Paul Rennie, vice president and general manager, WXIN & WTTV.

Cleveland Station Pulls Interim Tag off of News Director

WJW in Cleveland saved over a month of a News Director's salary by making Andy Fishman the stations interim News Director.

Now, the station has finally gotten around to taking away the interim tag and making Fishman the News Director.

Fishman has been with the station for 20 years. He replaces Sonya Thompson, who became the director of news projects for WJW's parent company, Tribune Media Group.

"Without a doubt, we have the strongest news team in front of the camera and behind it," Fishman said Wednesday morning during a telephone interview. "We have a lot of people who have been with the station a long time. They know the city. And the viewers know them. But you can't be complacent."

Fishman said he has been having one-on-one meetings with members of the Channel 8 news team. He has been asking them two question.

"The first is, 'What can I do for you?' " Fishman said. "The second is, 'What can you do for me?'

And third can you work this weekend without charging me overtime?

Ok...we might have made up that last one.

Former Jacksonville Anchor Spotted Talking WJXT GM

Sources tell FTVLive that former WTEV (now WJAX) Anchor Tera Barz was spotted lunching with WJXT General Manager Bob Ellis. The two were seen at a trendy Jacksonville restaurant in St. John's Town Center.

Barz was one of those that was let go when WJAX overhauled their main anchor staff. Sources tell FTVLive that although Barz has a non-compete in Jacksonville market through mid-2015, WJXT may still be interested in her.

Some are speculating that Barz could be the replacement to WJXT longtime Anchor Mary Baer.

Reporter Wins Emmy....is Then Booed off the Stage

FTVLive has long told you that we think Emmys are not worth the time. The awards are too easily won and given out in way too many numbers.

We know of one Emmy award winning Reporter that might want to redo her acceptance speech after winning.

WITI Reporter Meghan Dwyer won her Emmy for her report  Milwaukee public schools and they lack of taking bullying seriously.

When Dwyer won her award, she raced up on stage and then claimed that " public schools suck.... They’re horrible."

At that point she started getting booed and she then said, I love public schools..."

WITI GM John LaPorte spoke with TVSpy saying, “We have spoken with Meghan at length and she has made it very clear that she misspoke as she was caught up in the excitement of the evening.”

He did not say whether she misspoke about how "public schools suck" or that she "loves public schools."

Here's the video of Dwyer changing her tune and getting booed off the stage:
